Silva Alterata (The Altered Forest) is a one-hour and twenty-minute, continuously evolving soundscape by Jaakko Vastapuu, planted and carefully nursed from voice and noise recordings. It transforms the breath and voice of Australian soprano Jane Sheldon into winds, storms, whispers, and song, interwoven with subtle traces of electromagnetic noise recorded by Vesa Loikas. The result is an immersive, shifting sonic environment—part serene, part unsettling—that envelops the listener like a walk through a post-human forest.
